Question 1

What is a Freedom to Operate (FTO) search?

Accepted Answer

An FTO search identifies in-force patents and pending applications in your target countries whose claims may cover your product or process. It helps you assess infringement risk before you launch, manufacture or import.

Question 2

How is FTO different from a patentability search?

Accepted Answer

Patentability asks whether your invention is new enough to patent and looks at all prior art regardless of status. FTO asks whether you can sell your product without infringing others' rights and focuses on claims that are in force in specific countries.

Question 3

Is your report legal advice?

Accepted Answer

Our reports are technical search and analysis work product, not legal opinions. When a formal opinion is needed, we work alongside your patent agent or counsel — or recommend one.

Question 4

How do you protect my confidential invention details?

Accepted Answer

We sign a mutual NDA before you share any technical details. Your files are exchanged over encrypted channels, seen only by the specialists working on your project, and deleted 90 days after delivery (or sooner if you ask).

Question 5

Who can see my files?

Accepted Answer

Only the specialists working on your search and the founder, who reviews every report. We never share your information with third parties without your written consent.

Question 6

Which jurisdictions do you cover?

Accepted Answer

We routinely search the US, Europe (EP and national), India, China, Japan, Korea and PCT publications, and can cover most other patent offices on request.

Question 7

How can I pay?

Accepted Answer

After we agree the scope, we send a fixed quote and a secure Razorpay payment link — pay by UPI, card, net banking or wallet. International clients can pay by card or bank transfer, and larger projects can be split into milestones.

Question 8

Do you issue GST invoices?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Indian clients receive a GST tax invoice (add your GSTIN to claim input tax credit). International clients are invoiced without GST where export-of-services rules apply.

Question 9

How long does an FTO search take?

Accepted Answer

Standard FTO searches are delivered in 7–10 business days. Express (around 5 business days) and urgent options are available for an additional fee, depending on scope.

Question 10

What if I have questions after delivery?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every report comes with a walkthrough call, and you can send follow-up questions by email. Standard and Premium packages also include formal revision rounds.

Question 11

What format is the report delivered in?

Accepted Answer

A PDF report (password-protected on request) with your name and the delivery date on every page, an Excel reference list with links and legal status, and claim charts where included in your package.
